The McKernon Group is committed to safety as a mandate
for all of our construction projects. We have implemented a rigorous
program led by our safety officer. He oversees proper training
and compliance of regulations for all employees and subcontractors.
We
also have in place, Dr. Joseph Monkofsky, an experienced board
certified occupational physician. “Dr. Joe” provides
part-time services to our employees with an emphasis on injury
and illness prevention, environment, health and safety programs,
worker’s compensation issues, and disability management.
Employees have attended seminars led by safety consultants covering
topics from fall protection to mold abatement. Content centers
around the true cost of job site injuries to businesses and famlies
of the injured. Safety equipment is demonstrated hands-on.
Safety
requires extra time and equipment, and we believe it is a good
investment. As a result, we have lowered our incidence
of injury, yielding savings and increasing efficiency throughout
the
company. The benefits realized encourage us to continue improving
the working environment for our employees and for others within
the construction industry.
