Interiors > Wrought Iron
If
you would care to step back into the 18th century, our
blacksmith can transport you there. Working in much the same way
as a craftsman from the 1780s, we can reproduce period hardware,
forge a set of fire tools, or fashion an intricate garden gate.
Iron is heated in a coal forge to 200 degrees Fahrenheit or more,
and shaped with a hammer and anvil to create a truly authentic
look. Pieces are generally wire brushed and finished with a beeswax/turpentine
mixture creating a beautiful appearance and allowing for minimum
maintenance over the years.
Many of our clients choose to accent their cabinetry with hand forged
handles, knobs, and pulls. Although a small touch, these fixtures
offer a whole new element to any kitchen.
Share your design with our "smithy" and watch him create
a unique and enduring work of art that will be aesthetically appealing
and functional. |
