Roof™ is the trade name of a synthetic roofing slate made from recycled
TPO (Thermal
Poly-Olefins) a common material used in the automobile industry.
The 18" X 12" slates weigh about one pound each and are
cast in molds that were created from 100 year old roofing slates.
TPO is
the industry standard material for commercial sheet membrane roofing
and Crowe Building Products, the manufacturer of Authentic Roof,
is the first to use this product to manufacture individual slates.
TPO
has a proven track record of stability and durability in the auto
industry where it is used to make fenders, bumpers and interior panels.
Authentic
Roof slates are currently available in five colors (red, green,
light grey, dark grey and black) and three different styles
(rectangular, rounded corners or mitered corners). Authentic Roof
was the first rubber based synthetic roofing slate on the market
(1993) and it continues to lead the way in product development.
An ultraviolet protection package is incorporated into the material
to
protect
it from the harmful effects of solar radiation.
The
high percentage of recycled material used to manufacture the slates
and the fact that they can be recycled after their useful life
